Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the death of a 21-year-old man in Wexford town last month.

Michael Connors of Cluain Dara, Clonard, Wexford died after an incident at Belvedere Grove in the town on the night of June 29/30.

Mr Connors died as a result of head injuries sustained during the incident, after being treated at Wexford General Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

"Gardaí at Wexford Garda station are asking anyone who has any information about the incident to contact them," a statement said.

"They are specifically asking residents of Belvedere Grove, Wexford or anyone who was in the area shortly before midnight on the 29th of July to contact them on 053 9165200."
