Deaf man charged with serious assault in Dublin

A 25-year-old Bosnian national has appeared in court, charged in connection with a serious assault on a young woman in Dublin.

The man, whose address cannot be given for legal reasons, is charged with assault causing harm at Ballymount Park near Tallaght on May 30.

Adis Beckric appeared in court this afternoon, wearning jeans, a khaki top and runners.

The court heard that when charged the deaf Beckric told gardaí, through an intepreter, that he was sorry.

He told officers: "I've said I did it but I did not remember fully hitting her. My memory is blank, I told my girlfriend and she is angry and crying and now I am angry and crying".

He was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison to appear back in court this day week.
