Skills shortage leads to 2,000 Irish vacancies in US companies
A new survey has found that US companies here have 2,000 vacancies that they can’t fill because of a lack of suitable skills.
The survey by the American Chamber of Commerce found that in some cases, it is also taking longer that three months to fill positions.
The Workforce Activiation Survey results are down to a reduction in the numbers of third-level students in the sciences, maths and technology areas in the last 10 years, said president of the American Chamber of Commerce Gerard Kilcommins.
