More needs to be done to try and bring the pay scales of Irish public sector workers more into line with our European Counterparts, according to the Minister for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton.

Her comments come as new figures out today shows that 1,000 employees at Ireland's seven universities and the Dublin Institute of Technology earn an annual salary of more than €100,000.
