Gardaí question six in connection with dissident probe

Gardaí are questioning six men in connection with dissident activity.

Three of them were arrested on the M1 at Drogheda in Co Louth in the early hours of this morning.

Two stolen trucks were also seized and a large quantity of alcohol.

In a follow-up operation in Delvin in Co Westmeath three other men were arrested.

They are all being detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Balbriggan, Drogheda, Kells and Navan Garda Stations.

It is understood that three of the men are from the North while the other three are from the Republic of Ireland.

They are all in their thirties.
