Gardaí investigate as nursing home appeals closure
The Owners of the Rostrevor Nursing Home in Dublin will today appeal a court order which effectively closes the home after allegations of serious physical and verbal abuse were made to the authorities.
The HSE has now taken charge of the facility and is seeking alternative arrangements for its 23 residents.
The case is due for mention in the Circuit Court today.
An affidavit lodged with the court details an alarming number of falls and other injuries and a lack of clinical governance.
Gardaí have also begun an investigation into the allegations which centre on one care worker.
