MP Kelly rules himself out of presidential race

FG MEP and former GAA President Sean Kelly has ruled himself out of the upcoming presidential election.

FG MEP and former GAA President Sean Kelly has ruled himself out of the upcoming presidential election.

"My instinct is not to go for it," he said, saying a mix of professional and personal decisions made up his mind.

He said he had only entered politics two years ago and wished to continue to represent the people of Munster.

He also said that he had school-going children and an elderly mother who lived alone, and that his decision not to run was also based on those factors.
