Govt to benefit 160,000 families with school allowance

Around 160,000 families are expected to benefit from the back-to-school clothing and footwear allowance this year.

The Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton said €82m has been made available this year to help eligible families meet the cost of school clothing and footwear.
