Hundreds queue for Dublin leg of Obama trip
Hundreds of people have been braving the elements in Dublin city centre today to gain access to College Green ahead of Barack Obama’s speech this evening.
The event - which is being billed as an Irish celebration with the President - won't kick off until teatime - but security gates will open at two o'clock this afternoon.
Everyone will have to go through security at the intersection of Parliament Street and Dame Street and you're not allowed to bring in food, drinks, umbrellas or banners.
But these people queuing since this morning certainly brought their enthusiasm:
"Obama is an inspirational figure. I always wanted to see him - I've seen him on the TV for years and now he's finally coming to Ireland," said one young fan.
Another said she had been queuing since 5am. "I think it'll be a great day - I just can’t wait," she said.
