Queen to meet Cabinet at Government Buildings

The Union Jack is flying with the Tricolor over Government Buildings in Dublin today where Queen Elizabeth II is due at 11.15am.

She has already visited the Guinness Storehouse this morning.

It is not the first time the British flag has flown here - it has also flown on visits by Prime Ministers and other dignitaries from the UK.

When the Queen and Prince Philip arrive, they will be greeted on the steps by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and his wife Fionnuala.

Inside, they will be joined by the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore, his wife Carol and Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague.

The Queen will view the stained glass window from the half landing.

A private discussion by the fireplace in the Taoiseach's office will follow, before she is introduced to members of the Cabinet and Junior Ministers.

Before she departs, the Queen will view artefacts from the Waterford Charter Roll.

She then goes on to attend a ceremony at the War Memorial Gardens and a visit to Croke Park.
