Dublin: Army Bomb Disposal Team disarms device
An Army Bomb Disposal Team made safe a viable improvised explosive device (IED) on Dunsink Lane near St Joseph's Park in Dublin this evening.
The Defence Forces deployed the team in response to a request by the Gardaí. The device was made safe at the scene without the need for a controlled explosion.
The team arrived on scene at 6.05pm. The scene was declared safe at 7.30pm.
The remains of the device have been handed over to the Gardaí for their investigations.
This is the 15th viable IED made safe by the Defence Forces this year.
