Kenny defends pension-funds levy to back jobs initiative

The Taoiseach has defended the Government decision to take €1.8bn from private pension funds to pay for its new jobs initiative announced this evening.

The plan includes a new lower VAT rate of 9% for certain tourism services, which will lower the cost of eating out and holidaying in Ireland.
