Queen 'not offended' by Bord Fáilte gaffe

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has taken "no offence" at being inadvertently demoted in radio adverts flagging up her official visit to Ireland.

Irish tourism chiefs said the wrong tapes had been sent to a number of broadcasters which referred to the monarch as Her Royal Highness rather than the correct title, Her Majesty. 'Her Royal Highness' is a term used to describe princesses, and not Queens.

The gaffe also appeared on the Fáilte Ireland website.

However Buckingham Palace has said it was a commonly-made mistake and the Queen would not be put out by the blunder.

A spokesman for Fáilte Ireland has described the incident as "a storm in a bone-china teacup".
