Police in North Belfast are responding to reports of a suspicious object in the Woodland Avenue area this evening.

Motorists are being advised that the junction at Clifdenview avenue and Clifdenview road is now closed and a number of diversions are in place.

The public is asked to avoid the area.

The PSNI says the British army bomb disposal team has been tasked to attend the scene.

Earlier today a suspicious vehicle was declared "nothing untoward" by police in Ballymena, Co Antrim.
