A Catholic priest has been suspended from his ministry in the Archdiocese of Tuam after an allegation described as concerning "child safeguarding issues" was made against the priest.

A Catholic priest has been suspended from his ministry in the Archdiocese of Tuam after an allegation described as concerning "child safeguarding issues" was made against the priest.

In a statement the Archbishop of Tuam, Dr Michael Neary said the allegation dated back to the 1980s and has been reported to the authorities.
