Priest suspended in Tuam Archdiocese due to 'child safeguarding issue'
A Catholic priest has been suspended from his ministry in the Archdiocese of Tuam after an allegation described as concerning "child safeguarding issues" was made against the priest.
In a statement the Archbishop of Tuam, Dr Michael Neary said the allegation dated back to the 1980s and has been reported to the authorities.
The name the priest or other details have not been made public.
