May Day rally to highlight workers' rights

The trade union-led demonstration gets underway at the Garden of Remembrance at 11.30am and will proceed down O'Connell Street to Liberty Hall.

One of the organisations taking part in the rally is the Domestic Workers Action Group, whose coordinator Aoife Smith called on the Government to back draft international rules to protect the employment rights of domestic workers, including eight-hour working days and making sure workers get one day off a week.
