President McAleese defends Irish corporation tax rate

The President Mary McAleese has insisted that Ireland's corporation tax rate is not up for negotiation.

In an interview with a Dutch newspaper, President McAleese said that "we don't accept" there is any argument on the issue.

She pointed out that Ireland's policy on corporation tax "long pre-dates" our EU membership.
