Gardaí question five after cannabis factory raid

Gardaí are continuing to question five people in connection with the discovery yesterday of three cannabis growing facilities in Dublin and Cavan.

Gardaí are continuing to question five people in connection with the discovery yesterday of three cannabis growing facilities in Dublin and Cavan.

The four men and one woman are all believed to be Chinese.

Around 1,000 plants were seized by Gardaí at industrial units in Inchicore and Parkwest in Dublin and Ballyconnell, Co Cavan.

The drugs, which are subject to analysis, are estimated to have a street value of over €400,000.

The seizures are part of Operation Nitrogen which is investigating an Asian organised crime group.

All five arrested are believed to be of Chinese origin and can be questioned for up to seven days.
