Man arrested after Killester raid
Gardaí have arrested a man, in connection with an armed raid in north Dublin this evening.
Staff were threatened and a substantial sum of cash was taken during the robbery in Killester.
Shortly before 6.30 this evening, two men armed with a handgun and a hammer entered the Supervalu in Killester and made threats to staff while demanding cash.
The pair fled the scene with what Gardaí describe as a 'substantial' sum of money in a red Citroen Saxo which was driven by a third raider.
No shots were fired during the hold-up and nobody was injured.
Investigating officers discovered the getaway car abandoned on nearby Gracefield Road later.
During a follow up search, they arrested a 27 year-old man in the back garden of a house on Mask Crescent.
He's now being held at Clontarf Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.
All the stolen money has since been recovered and Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact Clontarf Garda Station.
