Viable explosive made safe in Clondalkin

An Army bomb disposal team has made safe a viable improvised explosive device in Clondalkin this afternoon.

An Army bomb disposal team has made safe a viable improvised explosive device in Clondalkin this afternoon.

The Defence Forces deployed the team to an address at Rollagh Gardens, Ronanstown in response to a request by the Gardaí.

The team arrived on scene at 11.50am and made the device safe without the need for a controlled explosion.

The scene was declared safe at 1.30pm, and the remains of the device were handed over to the gardaí for their investigations.
