Miscarriage misdiagnoses: Up to 24 cases being considered

Up to 24 cases are being considered as part of an review into women who may have been incorrectly told they had suffered a miscarriage.

The inquiry was instigated last year after one woman from north Dublin went public with her story of how she gave birth to a healthy baby boy after being told she had a miscarriage at eight weeks.

Professor William Ledger of the Royal College of Obstetrics in the UK is chairing the review, and its report is expected to be published in the coming weeks.
