PSNI investigate Derry assault

Police in the North are appealing for information following an assault on a man in Co. Derry in the early hours of this morning.

Police in the North are appealing for information following an assault on a man in Co. Derry in the early hours of this morning.

Just before 2am a 40-year-old man was assaulted close to the junction of Lever Road and Old Coach Road in Portstewart.

The man was struck in the head with a broken bottle and required medical treatment.

A 57-year-old man was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.
