Cavan syndicate collect Lotto windfall

A Co Cavan syndicate has today claimed its half-share of the weekend Lotto jackpot.

The win, using numbers from birth dates and ages, happened in the nick of time because they would have been changing them in the next few weeks.

The syndicate, who wish their win to remain private, said they were absolutely gobsmacked.

Their plans for the €7m include sitting tight, thinking things over for the summer and a nice family holiday, probably abroad.
