Hunt for Limerick robbery gang

Gardaí are searching for an armed gang who raided a jeweller's in Newcastle West in Co Limerick this weekend.

Two members of the gang, who were armed with a handgun and an axe, entered a jewellers and took a number of items yesterday afternoon.

They set a white van on fire to create a smokescreen between them and Gardaí, before fleeing in a grey Saab, which was also later found burnt out.

Gardaí at Newcastle West are appealing for anyone with any information to call them on 069 20650.
