Two charged over drugs seizure

A 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been charged with possession of drugs at a special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court this evening.

Gardaí yesterday seized 400 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 when they searched two houses in Drumod.

The houses had been adapted as cannabis cultivation sites.

Both the man and woman have been remanded in custody.
