Leitrim Gardaí seize 400 cannabis plants

Gardaí in Leitrim have recovered 400 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 euro.

With assistance from the Garda National Drugs Unit, the haul was discovered during a planned search of two semi-detached houses at Drumod.

It is understood cannabis cultivation sites were operating within the houses, where sophisticated lighting, irrigation and ventilation systems were in place.

A 25-year old man and an 18-year old woman have been arrested in connection with the find.
