Candidates to decide on contesting Seanad elections

Seanad candidates have until midday to decide if they will contest the election.

The Green Party now has no TDs, no senators and just three county councillors and as of yesterday, no leader.

Chairman Dan Boyle is remaining coy about whether he will put his name forward for the Seanad elections.

After a disastrous General Election, he says his party has a "remote" chance of success.
