Gardaí appeal for witnesses to fatal crash on N8

Gardaí in Mitchelstown are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the old N8 road between Kibeheny and Mitchelstown.

At around 7pm this evening, a woman in her late teens was fatally injured when the 4x4 vehicle she was travelling in collided with a ditch.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Six other occupants of the vehicle were taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

Forensic collision investigators are at the scene and traffic diversions are in place.
