A major international police operation has been launched to find four children missing from their home in County Louth.

A major international police operation has been launched to find four children missing from their home in County Louth.

The children, aged between one and 12 years, are Chloe, Jon, Jessica and Megan Eaton whoe were last seen at their home at Tullykeel in Ardee on Thursday.

It is believed they are in the company of a 30-year-old Englishman, Steven Appleton, who has dark curly hair and blue eyes.

Gardaí are concerned for their welfare and believe the Englishman may have left the country with the children.

The hunt for them has intensified with Interpol joining the Gardaí, PSNI and British police in the search.

The children could be travelling in an English registered silver coloured Opel Zafira - registration number DY08 JYF.

It is believed another woman and her two children may also be in their company
