The State has failed in its appeal against what it regarded as the leniency of a seven-year sentence handed down to a well known Dublin criminal.

The Court of Criminal Appeal today ruled that the sentence handed down to Derek ‘Del Boy’ Hutch for possession of a silenced pistol, was not unduly lenient.
