Second man questioned in connection with Smithfield attack

A second man is now being questioned by Gardaí in relation to a gun attack which took place at last Sunday's Smithfield Horse Fair.

A second man is now being questioned by Gardaí in connection to a gun attack which took place at last Sunday's Smithfield Horse Fair.

The man, who is in his 40s, was detained earlier today.

Two men suffered bullet wounds and a third was injured with a slash hook when violence broke out at the monthly horse market.

Earlier today, 41-year-old John Keniry of Rainsford Avenue, Thomas Court in Dublin 8 was remanded in custody for a week after being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
