Three held after gun seized in Wicklow

Three men were arrested and a handgun seized last night after gardaí in Co Wicklow searched a car at a routine checkpoint.

The three men, aged 34, 28 and 24, were arrested at Coolbeg, Ashford at around 11pm.

They are being held at Wicklow Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.

Investigations are continuing.
