Insurance industry representatives said today that they are disappointed with a European ruling on gender, and may appeal.

The European Court of Justice says that offering women preferential rates on insurance, because they are less likely to cause road accidents and live longer - breaches gender equality laws.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
