Only 15 people out of 67 registered on Innishboffin cast a vote.

Up to 200 residents on three Islands off the coast of Mayo also voted in the General Election today.

Islanders off the coast of Co Galway will vote tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a public forum, giving independent candidates a chance to have their message heard, will get underway at 8.30pm tonight in Dublin.

Some 11 Independent candidates running in constituencies throughout Dublin will take part in the political debate which is taking place in The Mezz Venue on Eustace Street, Dublin 2.
