Labour has struck back over Michael Noonan's claim that no country has ever taxed its way out of a recession.

Fine Gael's finance spokesperson today criticised Labour's fiscal plans, which he said were to increase the top rate of tax to 55% and introduce an annual recurring property tax on the family home.
