Poll shows increase in support for Kenny and FG
The economy looks set to dominate day two of the election campaign today.
Fine Gael is to unveil its plans to create jobs before party leader Enda Kenny visits Co. Kildare.
Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore will canvass in Limerick after his party reveals its economic policies in Dublin, while Fianna Fáil's Finance Spokesman Brian Lenihan will host a press conference in Dublin before party leader Micháel Martin travels to Meath and Monaghan.
Meanwhile, there is good news for Fine Gael in the latest opinion poll.
The IPSOS MRBI poll in today's Irish Times shows a rise in support for both the party and its leader Enda Kenny.
The poll was conducted on Monday and Tuesday, and shows support for Fine Gael on 33% - up by 3% on the same survey in December.
Fianna Fail are down 2% to 15%, Labour down 1% to 24%, Sinn Fein down 3% to 12% and the Greens down 1% to 1%.
Many voters seem to be turning to independents whose support is up by 4% to 15%.
As for the party leaders, newcomer Micheal Martin has 25% satisfaction, Eamonn Gilmore has 44%, and Gerry Adams 27%.
The number satisfied with Enda Kenny's performance is up by 7% to 30%.
