DSPCA: Recession has raised number of abandoned animals

The Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animnals rescued more than 4,000 animals last year.

They included cats, dogs, horses and rabbits as well as wildlife such as foxes, birds, hedgehogs, small animals and farm animals.
