Woman found dead after fire at Dublin flat

A 29-year-old woman has died in a fire in an apartment in Dublin.

The blaze was discovered at around 1.45am in Grenville Street and it is believed the woman was the only person in the flat.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way and gardaí have sealed off the scene.

No other properties were damaged in the blaze.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on the woman’s body.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Elsewhere a 93-year-old woman is in hospital after a housefire in Donnybrook on the southside of the city last night.

The blaze broke out on Nutley Avenue at about 11.20pm.

Gardaí say the victim is in a critical but stable condition.
