Bookmaker suspends betting on Martin assuming FF leadership
An Irish bookmaker has this evening suspended betting on Micheál Martin becoming Fianna Fáil leader before the General Election.
Boylesports has reported "an avalanche of bets" on the former Minister for Foreign Affairs after today's events in the Dáil.
"Brian Cowen’s credibility has completely diminished over the last few days and even his fellow colleagues are starting to lose faith in their leader," said Boylesports spokesperson Leon Blanche.
"Punters obviously believe that in the face of all this mayhem, Cowen might resign before March 11 and it will be Micheál Martin who’ll lead Fianna Fáil into battle."
