Dublin Airport warns of delays

As another day of sub-zero temperatures begins, commuters are being faced long icy commutes and restricted transport services.

Dublin Airport says it is fully operational today but with delays however there are cancellations and restrictions to some bus and rail services.

It was forced to close on a number of occasions yesterday as the wintry weather played havoc.

But today it expects to be fully operational, although delays can be expected and intending passengers are still being advised to check with their airlines before travelling to the airport.

Irish Rail says all of its routes are operating this morning with some delays, except the M3 Parkway to Clonsilla service. Bus transfers are available from Dunboyne to the Pheonix Park.

Bus Éireann is running services but there are disruptions, particularly in the north east and east.

Housing estates are posing a major problem for Dublin Bus services. It is operating most of its services, but many are running on main roads only.

There are also some disruptions to the Luas in Dublin. The red line is running from Tallaght Abbey St only while the green line is running between Sandyford and Beechwood only.

Hundreds of schools, colleges and institutions have remained closed, with up to one in five employees not making it to work in the cold.
