Small number of bus cancellations
Despite some cancellations, the vast majority of Bus Éireann services around the country are operating as per normal with some delays and diversions in affected areas.
School closures combined with weather and road conditions, particularly on secondary and minor roads, are also likely to result in some disruption to school transport services in affected areas today.
Bus Éireann local inspectors in consultation with local schools will assess the situation in each area of the country from early this morning.
Road passenger services affected by weather and road conditions this morning include some services in the north east where there was heavy snow fall over night:
100 Newry-Dundalk-Drogheda-Dublin – operating via M1 only
107 Kingscourt-Dublin – operating via Navan only
108 Balieboro-Dublin – operating to and from Kells only
109A Navan-DCU-Dublin Airport –unable to serve Ratoath and Ashbourne
111 Cavan-Athboy-Dublin–operating between Athboy and Dublin only
132 Tullow-Dublin – not operating
163 Drogheda-Donore – cancelled
161 Dundalk-Newry – operating on main road only
168 Dundalk-Annagassan – cancelled
175 Monaghan –Cavan – cancelled
182 Drogheda-Ardee – cancelled
188 Drogheda-Trim – cancelled
189 Drogheda-Clogher - cancelled
190 Drogheda-Laytown - cancelled
Drogheda Town service is cancelled and diversions on Dundalk Town service.
"Bus Éireann would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused," said a statement.
"Bus Éireann will seek to maintain as many services as possible over the coming days subject to road and weather conditions. Bus Éireann will continue to closely monitor weather and road conditions throughout the day."
