Two men escape alleged abduction attempt

Two men have escaped an alleged abduction attempt after the car they were in crashed in Derry, it has emerged today.

The men, aged 19 and 23, claim they were in a house in the Circular Road area when four men, two armed with guns, entered just before 10.30pm last night.

They said they were forced into a black Renault Megane and driven away.

The car later crashed near the Altnagelvin Hospital and the men were able to get away.

They were treated in the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.
