Social welfare spending to reduce by 14%, health by €1.4bn

Spending on social welfare is to be reduced by 14% over the four-year period, today's publication of the National Recovery Plan has revealed.

Cuts of around 5% are anticipated next year, with the details of where the specific cuts will be made to be revealed on December 7, as part of Budget 2011.
