Lenihan: Bailout 'not inevitable'

The Finance Minister Brian Lenihan is urging us to ''make our decisions based on facts".

Mr Lenihan made the comments as he left Brussels this evening, still adamant a bailout "is not inevitable".

European and IMF officials are due to arrive in Ireland tomorrow to determine if a bailout of Irish banks is needed.

Last night Minister Lenihan resisted intense pressure from Eurozone Ministers to accept a bailout.
