Coastal areas braced for flooding

Met Éireann is warning of severe flooding in parts of the country over the weekend.

Galway, Dublin, Waterford and Clare are of particular concern.

Motorists and property owners are being warned that there is a risk of coastal flooding in Dublin, in particular in Clontarf and Sandymount.

Galway city centre is also on high alert for possible flooding.

Ciaran Hayes is director of services at Galway City Council and says a number of areas are of concern:
