Government confirms €6bn Budget cuts

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan has confirmed he has planned €6bn of austerity measures for Budget 2011, it has emerged this evening.

In an unprecedented move, Mr Lenihan unveiled the staggering scale of savings needed – up to €16bn over the next four years in a bid to revive international confidence.
