SVP urges people to avoid rogue lenders

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) is pleading with financially troubled families to avoid the trap of unlicensed money lenders this Christmas.

Regional president of the SVP Brendan Dempsey has said the charity is frightened by what will happen in the run-up to Christmas as families struggle with the added spending associated with the festive season.
