Families seek closure over 2007 double shooting

A coroner's court has heard how the families of two men shot dead in Dublin more than three years ago want closure.

Forty-year-old Brian Downes and 24-year-old Edward Ward were gunned down in an attack at a garage in Walkinstown in October 2007.

Nobody has been prosecuted over the double shooting, although the investigation into their deaths is still open.

The Dublin County Coroner Dr Kieran Geraghty today said the inquest into their deaths will be heard in full next May.
