A cyclist in his mid-80s is in hospital after a collision in Dublin this morning.

A cyclist in his mid-80s is in hospital after a collision in Dublin this morning.

The man was hurt when his bike was in collision with a car at about 8.50am, near the Marino Institute of Education on Griffith Avenue.

A stretch of the road is closed as a result, and is expected to re-open at around 1pm.

The injured man is being treated at the Mater hospital.
