Trial continues in Lithuania of Irish man on arms charges
Prosecutors in the trial of an Irish man charged with plotting to smuggle arms to the Real IRA have played audio and video surveillance tapes to a Lithuanian court.
Michael Campbell, aged 38, is charged with plotting to smuggle arms to the Real IRA.
Campbell was arrested in a January 2008 sting in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius and has been on trial since August 2009.
He rejects charges of attempted weapons smuggling, illegal firearms possession and seeking to aid a terrorist organisation, saying he was set up. He faces a 20-year sentence if convicted.
Michael Campbell is the brother of Liam Campbell, one of four leaders of the Real IRA found liable by a civil court for the Omagh bombing in August 1998.
Liam Campbell is also wanted in the Lithuania case and is battling extradition after being detained in May 2009 in the North on a Lithuanian warrant.
